Get to know kantha...

Kantha, which simply means 'patched cloth', is a Bengali tradition whereby discarded material is woven together using simple running stitches to create a vibrant, quilted blanket.

Highly sought after vintage kantha is loved for its versatility. It can either be kept as a blanket, or, like my new collection, can be recycled and transformed into something completely new.

Typically, one kantha blanket can be used to make 2-3 bags depending on the size and that's part of what makes these beauties so enchanting; you're never going to find another bag that is exactly identical. Plus, when you factor in how hard to source genuine vintage kantha is, you know you're getting a truly special item that carries so many stories and so much unique history.
